The studio-house (Atelierhaus) on the Isle of Rügen, Germany’s biggest island, offers three holiday apartments right next to the water in pure and unspoiled nature. It is directly located on the edge of the Bodden, the inland part of the Baltic Sea. The apartments are furnished in a combination of modern and historic design with German antiquities as well as contemporary art and are up to 95 square metres big. The upper one has two balconies so sun may pass through the windows all day.

You can enjoy the tranquility and purity of this unique place in a natural setting while watching birds, such as our heron, the sunrise above the water through the window of your bedroom, or just listen to the different sounds of the wind.

In summer you can go swimming, take out our rowing boat or rent our studio as your own apartment to relax, paint or make music. In autumn, people come to bird watch or fish and in winter to relax in front of the fireplaces located in every apartment. Others rather prefer to go ice -skating in front of the house. Finally, when spring arrives, our guests enjoy long walks along the waterside, watching nature coming alive again and the return of the birds. During all seasons, guests have enjoyed the quietness of this place, they have begun to write and paint and if necessary made use of the Internet access we provide in every apartment.

How to get there
  • By train: take the train from Berlin to Bergen auf Rügen (four hours), we will pick you up at the train station
  • By car: Highway A20 to Stralsund
  • Cross the bridge (Rügendamm) to the Island, signs show town name Saßnitz
  • When you have crossed the bridge go to Samtens
  • Turn left there at the major intersection. Go to Gingst
  • Go through the village, stay on main road, leave Gingst and continue for about two more kilometres
  • There is a intersection called Kluiser Dreieck, turn left, continue for about two more kilometres (direction Trent), turn right, sign shows Neuenkirchen, continue for about 10 kilometres
  • When you see the village sign Neuenkirchen, turn left, into the village and go through it until you almost reach its end
  • When you see the sign Laase, Liddow, turn right, go up the hill, you will see a church on the left side, go down the hill until there is a big tree on the left, sign shows Sylvin, and turn left, go 50 metres, take first street on the right side, sign says No. 57, 100 metres you are there!
